Piedmont Triad will feel the chill all week
Jan 07, 2025
(WGHP) -- The Piedmont will continue to feel the chill.
Sunny on Wednesday with lows around 20 degrees and highs near 40 degrees.
Thursday, sunny and chilly with lows in the upper teens and highs in the middle 30s.
A storm system moving along the Gulf Coast will push clouds into the Piedmont on Friday. By late Friday afternoon, we might see a few snowflakes start to fall across the Piedmont. Chance of precipitation 40%. Our highs will be in the mid to upper 30s. Most of the moisture will move in Friday night into Saturday morning. At this time, we have to watch to see if warm air aloft will get pulled into the system. If some warm air gets pulled in, our snow will mix or even change to sleet and freezing rain. If warm air aloft is not able to move into the Piedmont, then we will see mostly snow. At this time, it's too early to say how much wintry precipitation the Piedmont could see.
The precipitation will end by lunchtime Saturday. Chance of precipitation 50%. After lunchtime Saturday, the clouds will begin to break with highs in the mid to upper 30s.
Sunny on Sunday with lows around 20 degrees and highs around 40 degrees.
Monday, sunny with lows in the lower 20s and highs in the lower 40s.
Tuesday, mostly sunny with lows in the middle 20s and highs in the lower 40s.
