GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The Green Bay Packers have nominated Riley Vertz for the inaugural Maxwell Football Club Girls National Flag Football Player of the Year award. Each of the 32 NFL teams selected a female high school flag football player to represent their team for this year’s award, which honors exceptional on-field performance, academic achievement, and community service. Packers and Sargento Foods continuing hunger relief campaign throughout playoffs Vertz, a senior at Kettle Moraine High School, serves as team captain and is the leading scorer for the Lasers’ girls flag football team. The team earned the No. 1 seed in this year’s postseason tournament. Wisconsin State Patrol reminds drivers of mile markers and their importance “The opportunity to continue the Maxwell Club’s mission of promoting all aspects of football and amplifying the amazing efforts of young women who are pioneering the game of flag football is a great honor,” said Mark Wolpert, executive director of the Maxwell Football Club. “The players, coaches, and organizations who have championed the development of the game are to be commended, and the opportunities that now exist for girls and young women will continue to grow. The support of the National Football League is a huge driver for the growth of this game, and the Maxwell Football Club is excited to play a part in recognizing excellence both on and off the football field for these amazing athletes.” The award winner will be announced later this month and honored at the 88th Maxwell Awards, which will be held March 14, 2025, at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
