(WFRV) - As many schools across Wisconsin return from their holiday breaks, officials are reminding drivers to be cautious and follow laws regarding school zones and buses. A Tuesday morning Facebook post from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) says that drivers must slow down in school zones while watching for buses and students. National Bobblehead Day prompts reminder from Wisconsin State Patrol regardnig mile markers In addition, if drivers see a school bus flashing its red lights, they are urged to stop at least 20 feet away, no matter what direction. According to WisDOT's website, drivers must remain stopped until the bus continues moving or if the bus driver stops the flashing warning lights, and failure to abide by these rules could result in fines.
