"Allegations spanning over a decade": Child sexual assault suspect arrested

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — A suspect who is accused of committing a pattern of sexual assaults on children with allegations spanning over a decade and involving multiple victims, has been arrested in El Paso County.
Following an exhaustive investigation by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPSO) 42-year-old Steven Leckenby was taken into custody and now faces multiple counts of Sexual Assault on a Child and Aggravated Incest. On Tuesday, Jan. 7, EPSO requested the community's help in identifying additional victims or information.

"Some of the alleged crimes date back to 2012 and extend beyond family connections, underscoring the severity and breadth of these accusations," wrote EPSO. "Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are seeking the public's assistance in uncovering the full extent of this case."
According to deputies, Leckenby lives in the eastern part of unincorporated El Paso County, near Yoder, and is currently being held at the El Paso County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
"The Sheriff’s Office emphasizes the importance of community involvement in this matter and encourages anyone with information or potential victims to come forward," EPSO wrote. "Together, we can help bring justice to the victims and ensure the safety of our community."
