We'll update this blog as necessary.Major Road Impacts: As of 4:50 p.m., Southbound I-25 is closed for a crash between Graneros Road and Exit 67, which is located about one mile south of Colorado City. A look at road conditions at Academy Boulevard near Murray Boulevard around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning in Colorado Springs. Road conditions along Academy Boulevard Tuesday morningTuesday, Jan 7:12:10 p.m Update: Winter storm warnings across El Paso and Pueblo county have been downgraded to a winter weather advisory. These are set to expire at 5 PM this evening. 10:30 a.m. Update: While Southern Colorado snow continues to taper off conditions are still not optimal. If you plane to head northwest into the mountains in the next few hours expect a long delay after a semi-accident shut down Westbound I-70 at the Eagle/Vail exits. 9:00 a.m. Update: As of early Monday morning the Pueblo Police Department has gone on accident alert or cold reporting. 5:30 a.m. Update: As of late Monday evening, the Colorado Springs Police Department is on accident alert. This means accidents without injuries are asked to be reported online at the City of Colorado Springs Website, sometimes known as cold reporting. Help Us Tell The Weather Story!Snow Totals:Here is a list of reports across Southeastern Colorado as well as what we can expect for additional snow totals. Timing: Mountains - Snow showers are currently ongoing and will get heavier as the evening progresses Northern I-25 Corridor - Snow will start out light around 8 P.M. on Monday Southern I-25 Corridor - Snow moves in a little later around midnight on Tuesday The Plains - Snow will start as early as 9 p.m., closer to Limon, and continue to sweep across the plains going into the early hours overnight into Tuesday.Snow Preparations:Ahead of the storm, News5 learned Colorado Springs does not pre-treat its roads. Despite this crews are on a full callout Tuesday morning working to stay up with the snow. WATCH: El Paso County and CDOT crews prepare for incoming snowstormSchool Closures:10:00 P.M. - District 49, District 20, District 2, and Pueblo County School District 70 are on a two hour delay for Tuesday. Update: The Winter Weather Advisories in El Paso and Pueblo county have been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning. This is in effect until 5 P.M. on Tuesday evening. Heavy snow is expected and could limit visibility at times. Plan on slippery roads lasting through the evening on Tuesday. 6:30 P.M. Evening Forecast:Winter weather advisories will begin tonight at 8PM and last until 5PM on Tuesday. El Paso, Pueblo, and parts of Fremont county are included in this advisory. Snow will start to pick up along the northern portion of the I-25 corridor and it will start out light. As we progress throughout the night it will get heavier and continue to move south. Overnight temperatures will be well below freezing and roads will drop below freezing as well. Anything that falls won't have a hard time sticking. Once we make it to the early hours on Tuesday, snow will still be falling and could limit visibility at times.
