Mayfield Village Council has announced a replacement for outgoing Ward 4 representative George Williams, who announced in November that he would be moving to North Carolina due to personal family health issues. According to a Mayfield Village news release, Williams replacement will be Peter Gall, who has previously served on the Mayfield Village Citizens Advisory Committee and the Beautification Committee. Gall was set to be officially sworn in during council’s regular meeting on Jan. 6 which will start his term, which will end Dec. 31, 2025. “Mr. Gall is a chemist, working as a Technical Services Specialist for Mexichem Specialty Resins, Inc., headquartered in Avon Lake,” stated the village  release.  “Mr. Gall volunteers as a Science Coach, working with students from Avon Lake High School, has been an Assistant Scout Leader for Boy Scout Troop 433 for 10 years, is a member of The Knights of Columbus, and serves on several other civic organizations.” According to the Village, five other candidates applied to fill the vacancy, but ultimately officials found that Gall’s qualifications and interview “rose to the top.” Gall stated in the release that he wants to help proceed with the designs that have been set by the administration and council. “I want to help ensure that Mayfield Village continues to be a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family,” he said.  “As a council representative, I would share my opinions, cooperate with others, and work hard to carry out the designs of the mayor and council. My goal when I get involved in different organizations is to make a difference and help others.”
