Central NY man killed after stepping out of car on Thruway, troopers say

Canajoharie, N.Y. — A pedestrian was killed by a passing car Friday morning on the New York State Thruway.David Bonaparte, of Rome, was driving west on Interstate 90 around 11:50 a.m. Friday when he pulled over and onto the northern shoulder of the highway in Canajoharie, the New York State Police said in a news release. Canajoharie is a small village in the Capital Region between Utica and Albany.
