Update: Winter weather advisory for Central NY until Wednesday morning – up to 5 inches of snow

On Tuesday at 9:59 a.m. an updated winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until Wednesday at 7 a.m. for Cayuga, Onondaga, Tompkins, Madison and Cortland counties."Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will create areas of blowing snow," can be anticipated according to the weather service. "Localized 24 hour totals of 7 to 8 inches are possible in the most persistent lake effect areas."
