DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — A key defense expert in the Karen Read case is returning to court.
A hearing could decide if a dog bite expert’s testimony could be used in the second trial.
Read is accused of hitting and killing her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O’Keefe with her car.
Doctor Marie Russell, a retired emergency room doctor and medical director testified in read’s defense, saying O’Keefe’s injuries were from a dog’s teeth or claws.
Meanwhile, read is attempting to get some of her charges dropped by the supreme judicial court while she awaits trial on April 1.
