Nebraska State Patrol cruiser. (Jeff Motz/KFOR News)ARLINGTON–(KFOR Jan. 7)–An officer-involved shooting in Washington County Monday afternoon is being investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol. This happened during a traffic stop in Arlington, where Washington County deputies arrested a woman for driving under suspension and the male passenger, 48-year-old David Boettcher of Omaha, had an active felony warrant for assault. The Patrol says Boettcher refused to cooperate with deputies and deputies became aware that Boettcher was in possession of a firearm. After several minutes, Boettcher exited the passenger side of the vehicle and began firing shots toward the deputies. Multiple deputies returned fire, striking Boettcher. He’s at an Omaha hospital with non life-threatening injuries. No deputies were hurt. A 1-year-old child in the vehicle was not hurt and put in protective care.
