It will be a quieter day for our Tuesday around central Indiana. Many communities are still trying to dig out from the heavy snow we received Sunday and Monday. You can see from the map below where the bands of heaviest snow fell versus the sharp cutoff in our northern counties. The storm total over both days for Indianapolis came to 7.8" of snow. This is the greatest two-day snowfall we have had sine February 2021 when we received 8.2" of snow. This is also nearly the amount of snowfall we received over the entire snow season last year! The season is still young! A quiet Tuesday It will be a cold and quiet day for us with high temperatures in the mid 20s this afternoon and lighter winds. If you haven't cleared your snow away from your sidewalks and driveway, take care of it sooner rather than later. The snow is compacting and with colder temperatures coming, it will harden. This will make it much harder to clear away. Arctic blast inbound Arctic air is on the move and will settle south into the state Wednesday and Thursday. High temperatures on both days are only expected to be in the teens. Air temperatures below zero are very possible Thursday morning with a wind chill making it feel even colder. Staying cold with more snow The arctic air eases to end the week but we remain cold with temperatures below freezing. Another round of snow is set to arrive on Friday. Accumulations are possible but will be far lighter from what we just received. Stay tuned!
