ROLESVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — CBS 17 has learned that Former Wake County Sheriff Gerald Baker received a citation last week for speeding in Johnston County from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. The highway patrol did not say how fast Baker was driving or where the stop was initiated. In addition, the town of Rolesville confirmed that the former sheriff was also stopped a few days after that for speeding. North Carolina police officer arrested twice in 3 days Baker was given a warning for speeding but received a citation for driving with a revoked driver's license during the stop on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. on Louisburg Road near Jonesville Road, Rolesville officials said. A spokesperson from the town of Rolesville released a statement on the matter: "A Rolesville Police Officer stopped Gerald Baker for speeding. Mr. Baker received a warning for the speeding violation, and he was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle while the Defendant's Driver's License Was Revoked." North Carolina State Highway Patrol Master Trooper Chris Knox confirmed that Baker was cited for speeding in Johnston County It's not clear how long Baker's license has been suspended.
