GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Throughout their partnership, the Packers and Sargento Foods have raised nearly $2 million to fight hunger in Wisconsin, and they're hoping for more in the postseason.
During the playoffs, the duo announced they'll continue their 'Touchdowns for Hunger' campaign, as the Packers look to make a run towards another Lombardi Trophy.
The partnership consists of the Packers scoring touchdowns and Sargento Foods donating $2,000 for each one they get. The Packers scored 52 touchdowns in the regular season, resulting in a $104,000 donation.
"'Touchdowns for Hunger’ demonstrates our pride for the Packers and our community," Sargento Chairman & CEO Louie Gentine said. "We’re proud to continue our donation in the postseason and cheering for Packers touchdowns to help feed families across Wisconsin."
The program started in 2002, and has provided over one million meals for hungry families in Wisconsin.
