Walker woman arrested for deadly November crash in Denham Springs

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- A Walker woman has been arrested in connection with a crash that killed a pedestrian in Denham Springs last November.
According to the Denham Springs Police Department, the crash occurred on Nov. 22, 2024, on US 190 near the Yellow Brick House. Investigators said a pedestrian was struck and killed in the incident.
Deidre Dugas Caldwell, 46, was charged with vehicular homicide, driving under suspension, no motor vehicle insurance, and obstruction of driver’s view. Toxicology results revealed the presence of Schedule II controlled dangerous substances, authorities said.
Caldwell’s bond has been set at $100,731.
