Baton Rouge police investigating deadly shooting on Shelley Street

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) - The Baton Rouge Police Department is searching for a suspect and motive in connection with a deadly shooting that happened around 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6.
Leonard Browder, 30, died from injuries sustained in the shooting which took place on Shelley Street.
BRPD said officers "were flagged down alerting them to a single-car motor vehicle accident."
They found Browder in a field not too far from where the accident took place.
Officers aided Browder and found that he had been shot. He died later at a local hospital.
The investigation remains ongoing and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
