Trump delivers first remarks as certified election winner
Jan 07, 2025
(The Hill) -- President-elect Donald Trump is giving remarks on Tuesday morning focused on his economic agenda from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
The speech marked his first public comments since Congress officially certified his 2024 election victory on Monday.
In recent days, the president-elect has been vocal about his desire to push his agenda through with just one "big" bill. However, he has also shown a willingness to support a two-bill reconciliation package.
His speech also comes a day before he is expected to meet with Senate Republicans on Capitol Hill, likely to make the case for his administration picks that require confirmation from the upper chamber.
