High wind warning in effect for eastern Kern County

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- We will see a few clouds this morning followed by mostly sunny skies this afternoon with mild temperatures in the upper 50s.
It's going to get breezy and windy in our mountain communities with wind gusts up to 55 mph. Desert communities can expect gusts up to 70 mph.
The powerful and damaging Santa Ana winds are expected to pick up later today in southern California. The winds can lead to widespread power outages and wildfires.
In Tehachapi, more than 3,200 SoCal Edison customers are under a public safety power shut-off warning from 6 p.m. tonight until noon Thursday.
