Amtrak trains canceled across region after winter storm blasts DMV

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- After a winter storm left major roads blanketed across the DMV, Amtrak announced that more than 30 trains have been canceled on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
Due to the blast of snow and ice during the storm, Amtrak said trains scheduled to enter and leave Washington, D.C. are no longer running. This also includes trains set to travel to New York, Richmond and Norfolk.

According to Amtrak's website, the following trains that were scheduled to travel between Boston and Washington have been canceled:
Trains 2150, 2154, 2168, 2170, & 2172 are canceled between Washington and New York.
Trains 2151, 2153, 2155, 2159, & 2173 are canceled between New York and Washington.
Trains 2103, 2107, 2108, 2121, 2122, and 2124 are canceled.
Trains 2190, 2152, 2162, 2166, 2163, 2167, 2169, & 2193 will operate as scheduled.
A total of nine trains that were scheduled in the Northeast Regional were also canceled:
Train 86 is canceled between Richmond and Washington.
Train 84 is canceled between Norfolk and Washington.
Trains 186, 112, 130, 66, 151, 119, & 131 are canceled.
On its website, Amtrak said passengers with reservations on affected routes would typically be accommodated on trains with a similar departure time or another day.
The company will also waive additional charges for passengers looking to change their reservation by calling 800-USA-RAIL.
