Winter weather advisory issued for Central NY until Wednesday morning – up to 6 inches of snow

A winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 3:10 a.m. in effect until Wednesday at 7 a.m. for Cayuga, Onondaga, Madison and Cortland counties."Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches within the most persistent snow bands. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph could cause blowing and drifting snow," comments the weather service. "Highest snowfall totals expected in higher elevations of Onondaga, western Madison and eastern Southern Cayuga counties."
