SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – A SWAT standoff in Santa Fe led to more than a dozen arrests over the weekend. Now, News 13 is finding out more about what was going on at the home where it happened. Santa Fe police said it was especially disappointing to see there were minors involved.  "It's traumatic, I think would be an understatement," said Santa Fe Chief of Police, Paul Joye.  Chief Joye says it's heartbreaking to see cases where juveniles are put in dangerous situations. This after a shooting sparked a SWAT standoff at a home near Camino Del Bosque on Saturday where 14 adults were arrested, and two minors were found inside. Santa Fe Fire Department reunited with first fire truck "Only causing harm to the children to put them in an environment where they're seeing things that they have no business seeing and being a part of something they have no business being a part of at such a young age," said Chief Joye.  The criminal complaint says the man who was shot and wounded, showed up to a party at the house. The victim told police things escalated after he got into an argument with 49-year-old Joaquin Archuleta.  Chief Joye says the shooting occurred over someone being disrespected. That's when he says Archuleta pulled out a gun and shot him in the kneecap. When police and SWAT arrived, the people inside refused to exit for more than three hours, leading to charges for resisting arrest.   "They impeded the execution of a search warrant. They put themselves and our officers and the neighborhood around them in a potentially dangerous situation and everyone went to jail as they should," says Chief Joye. Santa Fe Police arrest duo for armed robbery; third suspect on the run He says one of the adults, Karla Nesslein, is also facing child endangerment charges because she is the guardian of one of the juveniles who was 14 years old. Chief Joye says neighbors play a huge part in helping them tackle problem homes in situations like these.  "It's important that when people know that there's something going on in their neighborhood, that they help us take ownership of that area and call it in when they see it happening," says Chief Joye.  The teen under Nesslein's care has been placed with a grandmother. The other teen was also 14 and was on probation and has since been taken to a juvenile detention center in Albuquerque. The shooting suspect, Joaquin Archuleta, is facing charges including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
