LĪHU‘E, Hawaii (KHON2) -- The County of Kauaʻi's Housing Agency is awarding grants up to $500,000 as a Homeless Program Grant to eligible non-profit agency initiatives, with applications for the grant closing Jan. 31. They cannot be mailed or faxed, and will not be considered if sent in after the deadline. The grant aims to provide critical services to those currently experiencing homelessness. The guiding framework of the program is taken from the community engagement sessions for the Five Year Homeless Strategic Plan. Kauaʻi County Housing Agency will offer an open question and answer period via their email, [email protected], until 4 p.m. on Jan. 15. Answers will be posted along with the questions online. Recipients of the grant will be notified during the week of Feb. 15, with the project funding period being from March 1, 2025 and Feb. 28, 2026.
