(WFRV) - Mandi Genord, Miss Wisconsin 2024, made a strong showing at the 2025 Miss America Competition, finishing as a top 11 semi-finalist. According to a press release from the Miss Wisconsin Scholarship Organization, the top 11 were chosen from the highest-scoring contestants, plus one "People's Choice" finalist selected by an online vote. In addition to her impressive ranking, Mandi was honored with several awards. The release says she was one of three winners of the Preliminary Fitness award and earned the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women Leadership award in her region. Mandi also leaves the competition with $3,000 in scholarships. Mandi is also a 4th generation dancer and showcased her talents with a contemporary jazz dance to the song "You Don't Own Me." Her Community Service Initiative, Connecting Lives: Adoption Resources & Advocacy (CLARA), supports families seeking to adopt. The release says that founded in 1936, the Miss Wisconsin Scholarship Organization is a state affiliate of Miss America. It supports young women through scholarships, community service, and leadership development. Three Miss Wisconsin titleholders have become Miss America: Terry Anne Meeuwsen (1973), Laura Kaeppeler (2012), and Grace Stanke (2023).
