BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady said he is honored to be in consideration for rival head coaching positions but that the potential career move won't divide his attention during the NFL playoffs.
"There really doesn’t need to be much of a balance because my focus is strictly on trying to win a Super Bowl here and us trying to find a way to win this game this week," Brady said Monday.
Coach Sean McDermott confirmed reports Monday that teams have requested permission to interview Brady for head coaching positions. Those teams reportedly include Buffalo's AFC East rival the New York Jets, along with the New Orleans Saints.
Bills to host Broncos to open playoffs
"What the philosophy is we're going to keep the Buffalo Bills and the business of the Buffalo Bills at the top of our priority list," McDermott said. "And then No. 2 is always wanting the best for Joe. He's a guy that's done a really good job here, as you guys know, and deserves the attention that he's gotten. So with that comes some interview requests, and we have received some of those and we'll see where it goes and in the days and weeks ahead here."
Brady said, "the reality of it is some of the interviews, if interviews happen, would be next week. So really nothing for me to even think about right now."
Like most every NFL assistant, Brady has head coaching aspirations
"I would love to, given the right opportunity," Brady said. "I’m honored that my name would even be thrown out there. But right now my focus is to try to win a football game this week."

Brady coordinated a Bills offense that set a team record and finished second in the NFL scoring 525 points in 17 games (30.9 average). He took over as interim OC when the Bills fired Ken Dorsey after a home loss against this week's playoff opponent Denver midway through last season, and helped quarterback Josh Allen regain his MVP form.
"What I've seen is his leadership continue to grow, and his impact on our offense in particular," McDermott said.
