BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A man found with dozens of cloned EBT cards and more than $60,000 in cash was arraigned Monday on six felony counts.
Norbert Karaba is being held on $1 million bail on charges including grand theft of access cards and money laundering. An attorney entered not guilty pleas on his behalf and a preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled Feb. 11.
Investigators seized 78 cloned EBT cards and $63,952 in cash during the sting operation that led to Karaba's arrest last week, prosecutors said. The arrest came after Koraba used a fraudulent EBT card to withdraw money from an ATM in south Bakersfield, prosecutors said.
