Teen charged after shots fired at police in South Chicago

A teen is facing attempted murder charges after he was accused of shooting at Chicago Police officers on Sunday night, according to Chicago police.The 17-year-old is facing three counts of attempted murder of a police officer and a felony count of unlawful use of a weapon, police said.Around 7:35 p.m., officers were responding to a disturbance in the 8200 block of South Coles Avenue and noticed multiple men in the area when one of them fired an automatic weapon in their direction, police said. No injuries were reported, and the officers didn't fire their weapons.Two 17-year-olds were arrested nearby after attempting to flee, one of whom was charged, officials said. Two firearms were recovered.
