Will mail be delivered this week in Kansas after major snow storm?

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Postal workers are gearing up to deliver mail across Kansas Monday following a major winter storm which is making travel difficult this week.
27 News reached out to the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to learn how a recent snow storm is impacting its ability to deliver mail and other important packages this week. Mark Inglett, a USPS spokesman, said the biggest priority for the agency is the safety of its employees.
"The weather conditions have created challenges for us," Inglett said. "We're delivering as much mail as we can, as safely as possible."
Inglett said the USPS is looking for help from local residents and homeowners to give its employees better access to mailboxes and make deliveries possible this week. People can pitch in to help postal workers by clearing a path to their mailboxes.
"We're asking folks to clear a path to the mailbox of a car length and then another car length to allow us to service the mailbox," Inglett said. "If they could also clear a path for us to enter the roadway, that would help us a great deal."

Homeowners can also clear a path on steps leading up to their mailboxes to make things safer for postal workers. The USPS also asks that homeowners leave porch lights on and keep pets inside and away from mail carriers at all times.
