Park City police field possible homelessness cases, including along Main Street

The Park City Police Department received at least three recent reports involving suspected homelessness, including a case along Main Street.Homelessness is not widespread in Park City, but the Police Department occasionally receives reports involving people believed to not have a place to live.The recent cases included: On Sunday, Jan. 5, at 8:20 p.m., a person, described as homeless, was reportedly seen sleeping in back of a building at City Park. The police were told someone was seen the night before as well. The police classified the case as suspected vagrancy.
On Thursday, Jan. 2, at 4:42 p.m., a man, described as appearing to be homeless, was reportedly seen on Main Street, in the area of a walkway known for a bronze sculpture of a bear. The person had a “sign asking for money,” the police were told. The person who contacted the police “does not believe that is allowed,” according to public police logs. The police categorized the case as suspected vagrancy.
On Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 12:29 p.m., the police received a report of a person described as a “homeless guy” who “has a whole camp set up” in the area of Holiday Ranch Loop Road.
