Jan 06, 2025
The municipalities through which S.R. 32 runs are working on a new plan for their stretch of the state road, and they’re looking for public input at an upcoming open house on Jan. 13, 5-7 p.m. at the Summit County Library Kamas Branch auditorium.Kamas City, Oakley City and Francis City, in partnership with Summit County, Utah Department of Transportation and Mountainland Association of Governments, are working to establish the S.R. 32 Corridor and City Centers Plan, which the groups call a “holistic vision” for the State Route 32 corridor from Oakley to Francis, including strategies for land use, transportation, economic development and recreation. It also seeks to balance and complement the regional use of the corridor with the needs of the communities of Oakley, Kamas and Francis, including developing city center/downtown plans for each community. At the Jan. 13 open house, attendees can learn about the project, meet the project team and provide feedback on their experiences on S.R. 32 and vision for its future. There is also an online survey at summitcounty.info/sr32survey. More information is also available online at SR32.org.The S.R. 32 Corridor and City Centers Plan is funded through the MAG Technical Assistance for Governments (TAG) and UDOT Technical Planning Assistance (TPA) programs.
