Dominion Energy posted the following statement to its Facebook at 1 p.m. on Monday:
"Our crews are working to restore power to the nearly 90,000 customers impacted by wet snow and ice across Central, Western, and Southside Virginia. The hardest-hit areas include Metro Richmond, Farmville, and Altavista.
After a storm, we first focus on restoring power to hospitals, critical services, as well as the areas with the largest number of outages. Due to ongoing ice accumulation, more outages are possible today, and some areas may experience extended restoration times.
Please use the Dominion Energy app or visit DominionEnergy.com to report outages and track updates. For your safety, stay at least 30 feet away from downed power lines.
Thank you for your patience as we work around the clock to restore power as safely and quickly as possible."
