SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are asking for the public's assistance identifying a breaking-and-entering suspect who targeted a Smithfield home Monday morning. (Courtesy: Smithfield Police Department) The man was caught on surveillance footage forcing his way into a home off of Ridge Road, near the North Providence town line, around 9:30 a.m., according to police. Police said a resident interrupted the suspect during the act and he took off. The suspect is believed to have been driving an older model Nissan Altima.
