Storm Center PM Update: Milder Conditions on the Way
Jan 06, 2025
SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) -- The new work and school week is off to a cold start, but the blast of cold air will eventually move out of here.
As of 2:30 pm CST Monday
Until it does, though, please keep in mind that single-digit lows are expected through at least Tuesday night. Even with a small breeze, wind chill values will be near and below zero at times. Plan accordingly as you get ready for work and school.
By the second half of the week, we get some relief from the cold. Milder air from the north makes its move and heads into the Northern Plains through the weekend. While temperatures don't get terribly warm, it'll still be a very welcomed break from what we've dealt with lately as temperatures climb into the 30s.
Along the way, we don't have too much in the way of active weather. On occasion, we'll get some scattered flurries and snow showers at first before a slightly organized system moves through on Thursday...giving us some chances for light snow. The weekend also has a low-end chance for snow showers, but we won't see anything like areas south and east of us got earlier this past weekend.
