LINCOLN–(KFOR Jan. 6)–The father of a shooting victim last month outside of a north Lincoln apartment complex is now in jail, following disturbance early Saturday morning.
LPD public information manager Erika Thomas says officers were called to a home near 70th and Orchard, where they soon talked to 41-year-old Johnathan McCray, who was in town from Jackson, Mississippi for his son’s funeral. Officers soon found out McCray had a extraditable warrant out of Tennessee and was taken into custody. Police say McCray then spit in the face of an officer. He was put in jail for assaulting with bodily fluid on an officer and the warrant.
McCray’s 20-year-old son, Johnathan, was shot and killed on Christmas Eve by his 16-year-old brother outside of an apartment north of 14th and Superior.
