"Families are having a really tough time finding something immediately because oftentimes they don't plan ahead," explained Todd Pang, founder of Kupuna Care Pair. Exoskeletons do the heavy lifting to help those in need Pang has worked in Hawaii's senior care industry for more than a decade and he's encountered lots of families scrambling to find a vacant bed in a senior care home. "So it's really stressful for families. And I began to think we just need a one-stop shop for facilities to be able to broadcast that they have openings even, or that they're able to accommodate a certain type of care." The website acts like a listing service, much like what realtors use to help people buy and sell homes to sort and filter the criteria they're looking for to quickly and easily connect to a care provider. "It's a two-way benefit in that a lot of these care homes that don't have the ability to market their services can now have a presence online," Pang added. Lani Moore of Lanihale in Aina Haina said many families have reached out to them through this platform. "It's so simple because, you know, we don't need a third party in between to make calls, although that helps too," she said.
