INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO)  — Gov. Eric Holcomb, who will soon be stepping down from his position in state government, believes he is leaving Indiana in a better spot than when he took charge back in 2017. In an interview with Gerry Dick on Inside Indiana Business, Holcomb said he especially believes this when it comes to Indiana’s business climate. “They (businesses) see that we are investing in their pursuits as our shared pursuits,” Holcomb said. “They understand that we are serious about not just getting folks hired for the initial phase … but companies are making investments again and not just plan for retirements in the next decade, but also new types of jobs.” With Mike Braun, now Indiana’s former senator, set to become the next governor once Holcomb’s term is up in a week from today, Holcomb is certainly leaving a bit of advice for the incoming administration. He expects Braun to change a few things upon his arrival at the Statehouse. “Every governor or leader has to build an organization or structure that is in line with their experience and their instincts and their personality and style,” said Holcomb. “My caution would be don’t fix what’s not broken, but we always have to try to improve.” Among Holcomb’s proud moments in his time as governor has been the investment in new ventures like the LEAP Distrist in Boone County which has since new investments from companies like Eli Lilly and even Amazon. Though the project has been met with some vitriol from Hoosiers, Holcomb said that they were competing with other states for the investments that would be coming to the district. He says now other states are trying to catch up with Indiana because of the district. The post Gov.
