Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Richland Co. deputies say the mother of a teen accused of murder is now charged in connection with the case. Sheriff Leon Lott says Patrice Johnson, 48, knew about a 15 year old being shot on Quinton Lane on December 16th but waited approximately two hours before contacting law enforcement. Deputies say Johnson is the mother of the 14 year old charged in the shooting. Just before 3am on December 16th deputies say they were in the area of Hardscrabble and Clemson Roads when they heard shots fired. Around 4am investigators say a resident on Quinton Lane called 911 saying there was a body on their back porch. That afternoon deputies took the 14 year old suspect into custody.
