CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Two downtown Charleston restaurants that serve French cuisine and Italian fare are some of the most beautiful in the United States, according to a global luxury lifestyle magazine. La Cave and Legami, both on King Street, were listed on "The 27 Most Beautiful New Restaurants in 2024" by the Robb Report tagged as good enough to eat and look at. La Cave, or "the cellar", is a self-described “elevated sipping lounge and salon prive” created by Felix Landrum, the owner of Felix Cocktails et Cuisine. Visitors can enjoy French dishes paired with wine and cocktails from the region. “Let La Cave transport you to the south of France. Designer Leslie Landrum and architect Dan Sweeney have created a space reminiscent of a very chic cellar, which is what the sipping lounge’s name translates to in English. Faux stone walls and archways are complemented by natural wood finishes, herringbone parquet floors, and oversized crystal chandeliers. Plus, there’s a gallery wall of family portraits painted by the owners’ daughter.” - The Robb Report Design features include exposed stone walls, crystal chandeliers, light blonde wood floors, and indigo-colored leather sofas. Landrum said the designation is an honor and testament to his wife Leslie's vision. "We wanted to create a space where guests feel transported and inspired, and this recognition validates that," Landrum explained. "We're so grateful to our community and guests for their support, and can't wait to continue making memories at La Cave.”  Noted as a "visual delight," two families united to create Legami, which offers a lounge, live music, and private dining.   Dine on dishes like Mediterranean lamb and king crab tagliolini, with caviar service paired with specialized cocktails like the Legami Martini, which contains burrata-stuffed olives, in one of six rooms. "Each distinct space in Legami is a visual delight. Designed by owner Tyler Ropolo, the restaurant brings together the best of Italian culture with influences from historic Charleston. In the main dining room, you’ll find pastel-green banquettes and white Carrara marble tables, while upstairs there’s green-velvet seating and custom lighting from Torino. An outdoor patio includes jasmine vines and brick flooring, and an upstairs terrace showcases floral touches as you overlook the street below."- The Robb Report
