Lon Vicknair named Chief of Staff for MayorPresident Sid Edwards

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Mayor-President Sid Edwards has announced Lon Vicknair as his Chief of Staff. The announcement was made Monday, marking another key appointment for Edwards’ administration.
Vicknair, 43, will oversee all East Baton Rouge Parish departments, coordinate special projects and interdepartmental initiatives, and collaborate with other agencies in the capital area to ensure compliance with legislation and address public needs.
“I’m excited to work for the citizens of Baton Rouge and Mayor Edwards to ensure Baton Rouge is the city that our children want to call home and becomes the example that other southern cities follow,” Vicknair said.
Sid Edwards’ transition team creates committees to tackle administration priorities
A retired Naval Officer, Vicknair brings extensive leadership experience, having served in multiple global deployments, including Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Horn of Africa. Most recently, he was Senior Commercial Manager for the PSC Group, managing logistics and sustainability operations in Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, and California chemical facilities.
The Baton Rouge native also dedicates time to public service. Vicknair volunteers as a reserve police officer in Central and serves as the president of the Central Veterans Memorial. Additionally, he represents the 4th District of East Baton Rouge Parish on the Republican Parish Executive Committee.
This appointment reflects Edwards’ commitment to assembling a team focused on advancing Baton Rouge’s future.
