BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Surveillance footage helped identify a woman who police said allegedly vandalized the Portrait of a Warrior Gallery Friday in downtown Bakersfield. On Jan. 3, police responded to the organization for report of a burglary alarm around 6:27 a.m., but by the time officers arrived the woman suspect had fled the area. However, M&S security officers witnessed the suspect vandalize a glass door. Security officers also saw the suspect attempting to enter other glass doors to the building. M&S were also able to provide investigators with a detailed description and photo of the suspect, BPD said Monday. Later that day, business owners in the area provided BPD with surveillance footage and officers were able to identify Hillary Battisti as the suspect. Officers later located Battisti at a nearby hotel. She was arrested and booked for attempted burglary, felony vandalism, and multiple outstanding warrants, according to the department.
