Weather Forecast: Light snow and ice to start the work week
Jan 06, 2025
ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - Watch out for slick spots across the region today as some snow, ice, and freezing drizzle come onshore from the north. Lake Ontario is continuing to spit out winter weather for Rochester and the surrounding region for today. Snow showers this afternoon will put out a dusting to an inch on roads.
A persistent north flow will keep clouds around as well as light snow showers throughout the region. While there will be no major snows for anyone, a few tenths of an inch through each day will slowly amount up to a couple inches along Ridge Road by the end of the week.
Expect cold air to take over through the middle of the week with wind chills near zero. High temperatures will firmly remain below freezing this week with temperatures bottoming out by Wednesday.

8-Day Forecast
Localized amounts are difficult to predict because of the random nature of lake effect snow. There could be a few pockets of the region that do get plowable snow by Friday. We see temperatures climb up over the weekend, but fall back down going into next week.
