ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Funeral services are held today in Geneva for Former Lt. Governor of New York Mary Anne Krupsak. Krupsak passed away on December 8, 2024, at her home on Seneca Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in her honor at St. Francis De Sales Church on Exchange Street. She will be buried at Fort Hill Cemetery in Auburn. Her obituary honors her as "a trailblazing figure in the fight for women's rights." After working for the NYS Department of Commerce and under Governor W. Averell Harriman, she became a member of the NYS Assembly from 1969 through 1973 and the state senate from 1973 to 1975. In the Democratic primary of 1974, she beat Mario Cuomo to be elected Lieutenant Governor of New York. She was the first woman to be elected to that position in New York. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday morning.
