TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Five people were arrested after Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Ag detectives investigated rooster-fighting in Delano. Deputies say they were called to the area of Avenue 16 and Road 176 on Sunday for a report of possible rooster fighting. Investigators say several live birds and dead birds were found and collected by Tulare County Animal Control. Scales, fighting gaffes (knives), and other evidence were also collected by detectives. Five people were arrested for felony and misdemeanor charges, deputies say. Deputies say that animal fighting of any kind is a crime, and even observers are subject to criminal charges.
