Beaufort, Hilton Head Island open cold weather shelters amid forecasted freeze

BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) - Two cold weather shelters will open in Beaufort and Hilton Head Island due to this week's forecasted freezing temps.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) announced the opening of the two shelters on Monday.
The Beaufort location is at Sea Island Presbyterian Church, located on 81 Lady’s Island Drive.
It is open: Monday through Thursday nights (Jan. 6 – Jan. 9) at 5 p.m. and closes at 8 a.m. the following morning. Dinner and breakfast will be provided and there are showers available.
Sea Island prohibits weapons, alcohol, smoking and or pets. However, service animals will be allowed

The Hilton Head Island location is at Christ Lutheran Church, located on 829 William Hilton Parkway.
It is open: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights (Jan.7 – Jan. 9) at 5:30 p.m. and closes at 7:30 a.m. the following morning.
There will be dinner and morning to-go meals provided.
