PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A former probationary officer is expected to face a judge today after previously being fired for sexual assault. Back in 2019, Pawtucket police chief Tina Goncalves announced that Thomas Cahill was terminated from his position after Johnston police charged him with sexual assault. Johnston police said Cahill was arrested after a female patron of Bar 101 in Johnston, reported to police that she was inappropriately touched while at the bar. Cahill was charged with one count of felony second-degree sexual assault. He was then arraigned before a justice of the peace, and bail was set at $10,000 personal recognizance. He’ll appear in superior court later today. Categories: News, Pawtucket, Rhode Island
