A man, who was riding an electric bike, was killed in a crash that happened early Monday along Broad Street in North Philadelphia, police officials said. According to police, the incident happened at about 1:55 a.m. on Monday when a 51-year-old man, riding an electric bike, was involved in a collision with a vehicle that was headed southbound on Broad Street at West Erie Avenue. In a statement on the investigation, officials said they believed the incident happened when the man crossed from the west side to the east side of Broad Street against a red light. In a morning update, police officials identified the victim in this incident as Michael Buie of North Philadelphia. Officials said the vehicle that struck Buie stayed on the scene after the crash.
