Fayette Co. Sheriff’s Office activates Winter Care Program

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office has activated its Winter Care Program, according to a Facebook post from the department. The program aims to provide critical support services to those in need during the winter months.
The services offered include:
Transportation for healthcare workers to and from their jobs
Transportation for individuals attending critical medical appointments
Assistance with picking up essential prescription medications
Welfare checks for vulnerable residents
Distribution of winter coats
Community members in need of assistance or those who know someone requiring these services are encouraged to call the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 859-252-1771 and request Winter Care.
