PLAINFIELD, Ind. -- Plainfield firefighters rescued two people after their vehicle slid off the roadway and into frozen water on Monday morning.
Fire crews were called to the slide-off around 9:15 a.m. near Rockingham Way and E 350 South in Plainfield. Two people were in the trapped vehicle with firefighters able to rescue them from the frozen water within twenty minutes.

These stranded motorists weren't the only Hoosiers who found themselves far off the roadway due to snowy weather. Indiana State Police reported more than 70 slide-offs in just the Indianapolis area due to snowy conditions on Sunday and Monday.
State troopers have assisted more than 100 motorists already in the Indy district.
Across the state, ISP said there have been 259 crashes and 271 slide-offs as of 11 a.m.
