Two people and a UTV rescued after falling through ice in Wisconsin, driver arrested for first OWI offense

HUSTISFORD, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities in Wisconsin say the driver of a UTV was arrested for their first OWI offense after the UTV and two people went through the ice while driving on a lake Sunday evening.
According to a release from the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at 5:00 p.m. to Sinissippi Lake in the Town of Hustisford for reports that a UTV had gone through the ice.
Officials say the UTV, a 2024 Polaris, was heading north while traveling on Sinissippi Lake when it went through the ice.

Two people, along with the UTV, were safely rescued from the ice in a collaborative effort from the Hustisford Fire Department and the Dodge County Sheriff's Office.
The passenger of the UTV, a 46-year-old man from Hustisford, was not hurt in the incident and was released at the scene.
The driver of the UTV, 45-year-old Adam C. Malterer was arrested for his first OWI offense and was taken to the Aurora Medical Center as a precaution before later being released.
