Malachi, a product out of Los Alamitos HS, was ESPN's top-rated high school recruit in the Class of 2023.
Malachi began his NCAA career at USC in 2023. Malachi watched No. 1 NFL draft pick, Caleb Williams, run the Trojans offense as starting QB that season.
Malachi then transferred to Boise State for the 2024 season. Malachi was the backup quarterback for Madsen Maddux. Maddux passed for 3,018 yards and helped Boise State put together a 12-2 season and make the College Football Playoff.
Malachi played in three games while at Boise State. He completed 12-of-17 passes for 128 yards.
Malachi will now transfer for a second time in his NCAA career and this time is set to transfer to UTEP.
This is a huge get for UTEP as it approaches its second season under the direction of head coach Scotty Walden. UTEP went 3-9 in 2024.
