San Diego police are investigating a shooting Sunday morning in Lincoln Park that left a 19-year-old man dead.
The shooting was reported shortly before 9:40 a.m. on North Willie James Jones Avenue, near Lincoln High School, police said.
Police arrived to find the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the torso, a police sergeant said. He was taken to a hospital, but later died.
Police said they were looking for two Latino juveniles, both about 5-foot-7 and weighing 140 pounds, who were seen running to the west from the area near some nearby apartments. Detectives are trying to determine if the shooting was gang related.
Homicide detectives are in the process of gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses and checking to see if anyone captured the shooting on video, homicide Lt. Lou Maggi said in a statement.
No arrests had been made as of Sunday afternoon. No other information was immediately released.
