Man taken to hospital after home catches fire in Gaithersburg

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Medics took a man to the hospital after a fire broke out at a home in Gaithersburg on Sunday.
David Pazos with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) said firefighters responded to a house fire in the 11600 block of Shenorock St. at around 5:50 p.m.
There, they found that the fire had spread throughout the two-story home. A second alarm was requested, bringing 85 firefighters to the scene, according to Pazos.

MPD: Armed man charged after threatening 2 people, damaging property
A man who was inside the home at the time was able to escape. Medics took him to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
As of Sunday night, the cause of the fire is unknown.
